Experience in-depth professional vocal and acting instruction.
Campers in grades 3-7 will be featured in our latest Lyric Opera Express show, The Coyotes and the Rabbits, an English and Spanish bilingual opera by Hector Armienta, and prepare their own fun songs and opera scenes, including "Piano, pianissimo" from The Barber of Seville. Julia Scozzafava and Josh Markley will lead all things music, and Linda Ade Brand will stage the opera. Younger campers arrive at 11:00 and end their day at 3:30, but extended day options are available until 4:30.
Those in grades 8-12 will prepare both a new art song and an opera scene, and have the opportunity to add in a private coaching on their own repertoire with Joshua Lawlor. We'll have workshops, singing/acting technique sessions, masterclasses and time for rehearsal. Information will also be shared about how to audition for the Ginger Frost High School Honors Artist program. Older campers arrive at 11:00 and stay until 4:30.
During our early bird classes, (8:30-10:30 am), campers will work with Amanda and Laura Burkhart on the set, props and costume pieces in The Coyotes and the Rabbits. When not working on "tech" projects, early bird campers will have group voice lessons with Julia Scozzafava and LaTeesha Jackson, and brush up on their musicianship skills with Ashley Beth Burnett.
