The Barber of Seville
Rossini’s RomCom romp follows hopeless romantic Count Almaviva through a plot that unfolds like an operatic obstacle course. With the help of Figaro, a former servant turned barber, Almaviva attempts to run off with his true love, Rosina, before her soon-to-be forced marriage to the scheming Dr. Bartolo. What starts as a simple plan becomes an elaborate comedy of errors. Even first-time operagoers will spend the night exclaiming, “Hey, that’s that one song from that one thing!”
